Thin aluminium sheets can be easily welded with the help of Ultra sonic metal welding machines.
The process is simple and uses single phase 3 KW power.It is not so costly.
Please send samples or photos so that I can send you info as how to weld it effectively.

! mm welding can be done by a machine with 3 KW capacity Single Phase.
It entirely depends on whether it is seam wellding or spot welding at one or different locations.
So please send the photos or drawings so that I can recommend exact model of the machine.

for aluminum TIG welding on such thin sheet, good skilled welding workers can control the quality, if the welding is uniform or regular, you can consider to purchase one automatic machine for this job, the welding gun can go smooth and stable for straight line or round shape. we have so much experience on TIG welding on think sheet for metal stamping parts.
 
May be you can use laser welding to process them, we often make AL prototyping in this way, such as Cans, it depends on your design.

Hello @nich!

Here, I am going to give you some fast tips about tig welding. Hope you would find your answer and you would enjoy reading all of it. :) Have a look given below-

TIP #1 The single biggest tip for Tig welding aluminum castings is to use a helium/argon mix instead of straight argon. That's a pretty strong statement, but I stand behind it 100 percent.


TIP #2 The second tip is to preheat the aluminum casting. A 200 degree preheat will work wonders and if you are using a small tig inverter like a Miller Dynasty 200dx or a Lincoln Invertec v205t, you only have about 200 amps to play with and you will need every bit of it. A preheat will get you over the hump.


TIP #3 The third tip is to be careful not to use too much torch gas. Just to be clear, that's the gas coming out of the tig cup. Enough is enough and more is worse , not better. Use just enough flow to shield the puddle and not much more. If the noise from the arc is rattling your brains out, you probably have too much gas flow.
