Any MAC users?

I used a MAC for my academic career as I liked it for programming and coding. Also, I hate dealing with network rubbish and my MacOS makes all that stuff easy for me.
I am not planning on getting new computers for at least a year. Sooo.... now that I am out of school and don't have access to Microsoft PCs I need advice on what software solution I could use in conjunction with my Macbook and iMac.
Often when the product info says _____ drafting software for Mac they usually just say use in conjunction with Bootcamp, which seriously is a b^77 $#!t solution.
 
Siemens NX runs on a Mac. Not cheap it is the full priced spread.

Solidworks is a Windows only program.
 
super biased opinion

Mac is for play PC is for work. Mac has a lot of cult usership you buy it because it is cool. It is designed for kids and old ladies (half joking)

They are really good at hand held ipad and iPhone but computers are overpriced and don't really offer advantages over PC at this point. PC has made huge effort to improve usability.
 
I'm afraid a Mac more or less rules out any CAD program except maybe UG-NX as mentioned, which is way out there price-wise.
If the iOS offers a sort of Windows Emulator you might run CAD-SW on your Mac. If Bootstrap is the name of such an emulator I guess you're not quite enthusiastic about it :-)
Actually a Mac is an excellent system for graphics editing, but unfortunately has lost out in the engineering industry to MS Windows and as a result almost no CAD applications are available..
I am therefor afraid that, if you want to built up your experience in 3D engineering on your own, you will have to buy a MS Windows system sooner than you planned.
Then you have to get the CAD application itself. Usually they are quite pricey, but through Forums on Linkedin I have learned a basic program like ZW3D is reasonable priced at about $700. Most other CAD-programs run into the thousands of dollars.
PTC has also a program free of charge - no time limit on usage - called PTC Creo Elements, which has most of the basic functionality including making drawings. It is however a purely direct modeling/editing program. It is from the same company as PTC Parametric, formerly known as Pro-E.
 
I have a Mac Book Pro 17†2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 (I also run duel monitors) Which I run SW on via Vmware and Windows 7 this is an awesome set up. It runs better than my work PC.

I also run a 408 SSD hard drive with 16 Gigs of 1333 DDR3 Ram, AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
In the new OS X ver.

I am using 2D Vellum Graphite on 0SX 10.6.8. Very user friendly
 
You can run SW on a mac. Just has to be configured for it. VMware is very stable. Windows 7 is OK and any "problem" i have is with windows. I use it daily. I like it better that my top of the line Dell workstation.
 
I don't think Macs would be around anymore if it weren't for Apple being so smart as to give free Macs to schools. Its great there is VMware to make a Mac do what much less expensive PCs do. I feel for all those poor students who limited their software options because they bought into the Mac kool-aid. (graphic arts and gaming being the exception)
