Hi all,

Short and sweet question for you:

Is it possible to co-mould/over-mould a Thermoplastic (flexible TPU) to a Thermoset such as Urea?

Cheers!

Pete

The short answer is yes. I'ts simple insert moulding.

Have to watch the temps though

But will they bond together or just mould to a very good fit?

Ahhh... good question. sometime stuff that's supposed to stick just dont.

Of course you should always try to design in some form of mechanical interlocking. Ideal if you can create moulded rivets.

I dont know if this breaks forum rules as I'm not promoting myself, but you could try asking Luke McElligott of Slverarm for advice. He's rather good I've found on material advice.

If it is agaisnt rules, I'm happy to edit/have edited the post

Too late now :)

Thanks though, i'll look him up - i'm having real trouble finding any manufacturers / material suppliers who can give me a straight answer!

Cheers!
